EVENT FLYERS
  • Level 2 - 5 students worked on an event flyer for the Seminole Kiwanis "Hearts Rocks For Kids" festival.
Included sketching, Illustrator, Photoshop, Layout skills
CITY OF LARGO - ADULT FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM LOGO DESIGNS
  • Level 2 - 6 students were invited to submit their logo designs for the City of Largo's Flag Football team logo.
  • Use of concept sketching, Illustrator and Photoshop
LAYOUT IN DESIGN - Food Ads - Magazine Cover
  • Level 2 - 3 students studied layout and design and created a one-page ad for a favorite food and music
    magazine that needed to have themselves on the cover.
COLOR THEORY - Color Combinations
  • Level 1 - 6 Students studied color theory and obtained knowledge of why colors get mixed the way they do. They
    were required to ID color combinations of famous teams, shows, characters, foods, etc., then turn them into an
    animated .gif file which illustrates their subject.
OP ART
  • Level 1 - 6 Students studied op art and illusions and had to create several pieces of optical art. Op Art was a term
    coined by TIME magazine in the 1960's which described artwork which gave a 3D feel or look to a flat 2D surface.
Successful op art tricks the eye into thinking it sees movement, color or shapes that aren't there.

TYPOGRAPHY
  • Level 2 - 6 students studied typography and designing with type. They were charged with creating an original
    font, formatting it, and turning it into a True Type Font (TTF). Click each link for a look

  • Level 1 - 4 students have studying typography and designing with type. They were charged with choosing a
    random noun, adjective and verb, then visually interpreting the word to incorporate aspects of its meaning.
    Students were encouraged to create as minimal a design as possible, often on black and white. Incorporates
    sketching, typography, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
CITY OF LARGO VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP PROJECTS
  • Throughout the semester, upper level students had the opportunity to do design work for the City of Largo.
    This is a collection of several projects they've worked on.

POSTER DESIGN
  • Level 1 - 6 students studied poster history and design and created a complete redo of a famous movie poster
    and a teaser for that movie as well as inserted themselves into famous movie posters as the stars of them.
